Metadata

Metadata-
Is composed of Structural Metadata and Descriptive Metadata. Structural Metadata is known as "data about the containers of data". Descriptive Metadata is about the data content. The most common place you can find metadata is in card catalogs in libraries. Metadata is used to describe the context of data.

Triangle of Exposure

Definitions:
1) Aperture- A space through which light passes in an optical or photographic instrument, esp. the variable opening by which light enters a camera.2) Shutter Speed-
3) ISO- measures the sensitivity of the image sensor in digital photography
4) Depth of Field- range of distance that appears sharp
5) Motion Blur- photo of moving action
6) Noise and light sensitivity- depending on your location when you take a picture, cameras will be sensitive to the amount of light and undesired noise.

Pros and Cons: Print Vs. Digital


Digital- Pros
-Taking and uploading pictures is a very fast process
-Easy to work with a budget if you aren't making really high quality pics
-Editing and color can be edited easily with digital photography
-Photos can be made smaller or larger and moved around on the internet anytime
Digital- Cons
-Sometimes there are too many editing options to choose from and deciding is hard
-If you need a high quality photo printer, it can be expensive
-Lots of controls and buttons on cameras, might need extensive learning to master
-Program editing can be complicated if you haven't learned yet
Print- Pros
-Still creates the best original quality photos
-Certain special effects come out clearer with traditional print photography
-Print can be quicker and cheaper, relative to the comparison of your print and digital quality
- Achievable in a short time if you are doing small run amounts of photos
Print- Cons
-Editing and customizing is not as simple and fast as digital photography program editing
-Photos printed can only be limited sizes
-Certain colors cannot be achieved in print photography
-Not as quick an instant a process as digital photography
